A vendor refers to an individual or business that buys goods and services from distributors and then sells them to consumers or other businesses. There are five types of vendors, which are manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, service and maintenance providers, and independent vendors, as well as trade show representatives.
In QuickBooks, vendors are commonly referred to as suppliers. Whenever you pay for services or receive a refund from a company or individual, they are considered a vendor. The Purchase by Vendor Detail report displays individual purchase transactions grouped by vendor for the specified period.
